A passenger aboard one of RCI-Royal Caribbean's prominent global voyages has passed away this week, as confirmed by the company.
An unnamed guest traveling on Serenade of the Seas reportedly died before the vessel arrived in Los Angeles CA.
Although RCI/Royal Caribbean International did not disclose the individual's identity or the cause of death, posts on social media from purported passengers on the ship suggest that the deceased was an elderly woman who passed away in her stateroom.
The Serenade OTS is presently engaged in a world cruise/circumnavigation of the globe. The vessel commenced the 9-month voyage in December 2023.
Having completed the initial leg of her voyage around the Americas, this luxury liner is poised to proceed with scheduled stops in the Middle East, Europe, and Asia until September of the current year.
"A guest sailing onboard Serenade of the Seas has sadly passed away. We are actively providing support and assistance to the guest's loved ones at this time," Royal Caribbean said in a statement.
"Out of the privacy of the guest and their family, we have nothing further to share at this time."
