MSC Cruises has expanded its utilization of Starlink Wi-Fi across two-thirds of its fleet, demonstrating its commitment to enhancing connectivity for passengers.
The implementation of this technology has been progressively introduced to 15 of the company's ships since December 2022.
MSC Opera and MSC World Europa are slated to receive the upgrade this month. Additionally, ahead of the summer season, the remaining five ships - MSC Armonia, MSC Bellissima, MSC Musica, MSC Sinfonia, and MSC Splendida - will undergo installation of the enhanced connectivity system.
A spokesperson for MSC highlighted the growing demand for onboard bandwidth, driven by the increasing number of connected devices and the utilization of various applications by passengers. The introduction of Starlink aims to address these evolving connectivity needs for guests, crew, and the technical operations of the fleet.
Furthermore, Explora I, the inaugural vessel of MSC's expedition brand company Explora Journeys, is already equipped with Starlink. The technology will also be integrated into Explora II upon its launch in August.
