RCI-Royal Caribbean International has decided to cancel the first two scheduled sailings aboard the Star of the Seas and has adjusted the ship's delivery date accordingly.

The new vessel (sistership to Icon of the Seas) was originally scheduled for inauguration/maiden voyage out of Port Canaveral/Orlando (Florida USA) on August 17th, 2025.

However, the cruise line announced that due to delays in the ship's construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, her delivery will be postponed beyond the anticipated timeframe.

Consequently, both the August 17 and August 24, 2025 sailings have been canceled.

Star OTS is now scheduled to commence the inaugural cruise on August 31st (2025).

An RCI spokesperson said:

“Royal Caribbean International has adjusted the previously scheduled debut of Star of the Seas to August 31, 2025.

“The new ship, currently under construction in Turku, Finland, will be delivered later than anticipated which has, unfortunately, required the cancellation of the August 17 and August 24, 2025, sailings.

“Guests booked on the cancelled cruises can rebook their vacation on another ship or move to Star’s first sailing on August 31. We have communicated these updates to guests and travel partners.”
