A 35-year-old woman traveling aboard Margaritaville Paradise died Tuesday evening, February 27th, after she developed difficulty breathing during dinner.
The ship's doctor arrived to assist, but she was unconscious and died a short time later.
The incident happened in international waters during a 2-day, round-trip Bahamas cruise from West Palm Beach.
The victim's body was offloaded in Freeport (Grand Bahama) on February 28th.
Local police officials, the Colonel's Office, and the American embassy were notified.
The police are continuing the investigation into the matter.
The Margaritaville Paradise travels to Freeport Harbour/Grand Bahama 3 times weekly.
