A Scottish man is presumed missing after falling overboard from an MSC cruise ship while traveling in Europe.
Liam Jones, a resident of Dundee, was aboard the MSC Euribia, navigating through various European countries over the weekend.
Concerns mount for the 23-year-old as he disappeared during the ship's journey from Hamburg to Rotterdam on Sunday, March 17.
It is reported that Liam was on vacation with his family at the time of the incident.
His relatives express uncertainty about his whereabouts and have received minimal information from authorities.
Police Scotland officers notified them about the occurrence on Thursday, March 21.
The cruise operator has verified the disappearance of a passenger.
A spokeswoman for MSC Cruises stated that a passenger on board MSC Euribia had been reported missing, who they believed had gone overboard, on March 17 as the ship had sailed from Hamburg to Rotterdam.
“The authorities have been informed and have been on board the vessel.
“We are deeply saddened by this news and our thoughts are with the family at this very difficult time. Out of respect for the family’s privacy we will refrain from disclosing any additional information.
“Our customer care team have been in continuous contact with the family and remain in contact.”
