Seajets, a prominent Greek ferry operator, is making its foray into the cruise industry with the acquisition of the 2004-built cruise vessel Costa Magica/currently Mykonos Magic.
The vessel is currently undergoing drydock refurbishment at Turkey's Canakkale İCDAS Shipyard. Renamed Mykonos Magic initially, it will soon be named "Goddess of Night" under the banner of the newly established cruise line and travel brand Neonyx Cruises.
This strategic move is part of Seajets' broader endeavor to diversify its business portfolio by venturing into the cruise sector. Efforts have been made to assemble a crew and liaise with port authorities to ensure the smooth operation of the maiden voyages. The cruise ship will operate under Neonyx Cruises, a fledgling company geared towards offering adult-only excursions across the Mediterranean region. While specific itinerary details are yet to be disclosed, the cruise line's website hints at visits to renowned destinations such as Piraeus, Santorini, Mykonos, and Cesme.
The unveiling of the ship's new name, "Goddess of Night," underscores the new brand's intention to cater to a youthful and vibrant demographic seeking a blend of relaxation and nightlife. The cruise experience is poised to feature top-tier DJs, interactive performances, and a diverse entertainment program showcasing artists, singers, dancers, and acrobats.
