The US Coast Guard has released footage capturing the precise moment when a pregnant woman was airlifted from a Disney cruise ship due to health complications on April 15.

A MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter executed a landing on the bow (forward on deck 5) of the Disney Fantasy vessel, situated approximately 180 miles northwest of Aguadilla in Puerto Rico.

According to the coastguard's statement, the individual in need of medical evacuation was a 35-year-old pregnant US citizen, requiring advanced medical attention ashore.

In a video circulated on social media, a member of the helicopter crew is depicted fastening the stretcher to a rope, facilitating the passenger's transfer into the aircraft.

Upon completion of the airlift operation, the pregnant woman was transported to Fernando Luis Ribas Dominicci Airport in San Juan, where emergency personnel awaited her arrival, as confirmed by the US Coast Guard.

Subsequently, she was conveyed to Centro Medico Hospital for further medical treatment.

Lieutenant Commander Todd Stephens said their "crew was able to quickly, safely, and efficiently execute a long-range medevac for the patient to receive the higher level of care she required."

"This case demonstrates the value of good crew resource management and the capabilities of our Jayhawk helicopter."

The coastguard's leader for the case, Ensign Michael Riccio, added they were glad everything came together to help this passenger.

"The competency displayed by the Disney Fantasy crew and the coastguard personnel and units involved made all the difference."
