ACL-American Cruise Lines marks the growth of USA river cruising with its most expansive season on the Columbia and Snake Rivers to date.
With the recent unveiling of plans for 5 additional ships set to debut in 2024 and 2025, the company continues to lead the industry's expansion westward. Presently, ACL has 5 boats operating along the Columbia and Snake Rivers (April to early November), complemented by 2 small-sized seagoing ships navigating Puget Sound and Alaska.
ACL's 2024 fleet on the Columbia and Snake rivers comprises three "modern riverboats" and two classic paddlewheelers. While American Song, American Harmony, and American West are already in service, the ships American Jazz and American Pride are set to commence their voyages this week. Each vessel offers spacious accommodations for 100 to 180 guests, featuring exclusively outside staterooms and private balcony suites.
ACL's Columbia and Snake Rivers itineraries promise discovery and a variety of experiences across meticulously curated journeys lasting from 6 to 16 days. Passengers can expect excursions ranging from guided tours of renowned national parks to visits to iconic sites like Mt. St. Helens and Multnomah Falls, as well as thrilling activities such as Jet Boat rides and Flightseeing Adventures in Hells Canyon.
The voyages also showcase the region's stunning natural landscapes, encompassing picturesque alpine meadows, rugged desert canyons, snowcapped peaks, and the breathtaking Astoria coastline, a historic settlement dating back to the earliest days of American expansion westward.
Among this season's highlights are the popular 16-day "National Parks & Legendary Rivers" itinerarires, blending Columbia and Snake River exploration with guided adventures through Yellowstone, Glacier, and Grand Teton National Parks. Other offerings include classic 9-day cruises, shorter 6-day itineraries, and extended 12-day "Northwest Pioneers" sailings available in both directions between Portland Oregon, and Clarkston Washington. The National Parks & Legendary Rivers itinerary extends from Portland to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
In addition to commemorating Lewis and Clark's renowned expedition, ACL presents special themed sailings such as the Lewis & Clark cruises, Art Immersion cruises, and Vineyard Cruises. These themed voyages offer tailored onboard experiences, including expert-led discussions, hands-on workshops, and exclusive visits to regional vineyards.
ACL's 2024 Columbia and Snake river routes offer comprehensive cruise experiences, featuring an all-inclusive onboard package encompassing entertainment, enrichment programs, guided shore excursions, complimentary pre-cruise accommodations, and optional extended stays in Clarkston WA.
