Carnival Corporation's fleet achieves 100% Starlink satellite connectivity

Carnival Corporation & plc, the world's largest cruise company, has announced that its entire fleet is now equipped with Starlink's high-speed, low-latency global satellite internet connectivity.

This complete installation enhances the onboard experience for both guests and crew, providing faster service, greater capacity, and more reliable Wi-Fi across its fleet of 90+ ships spanning its portfolio of world-class cruise brands. The deployment of Starlink marks the latest in a series of innovations and investments from Carnival Corporation, which have collectively quadrupled its fleetwide bandwidth since 2019 through an industry-leading connectivity strategy.

The upgrade ensures that onboard connectivity rivals that available on land, enabling guests and crew to stay connected from anywhere in the world. This includes sharing pictures and videos, scrolling on social media, streaming live content, and working remotely. The increased bandwidth also enhances each ship's operational and communication capabilities, allowing for continuous monitoring of onboard equipment, real-time connectivity, and data sharing between ship and shore teams. Additionally, it provides the flexibility to quickly roll out new guest services and features, even while at sea.

Carnival Corporation began its fleetwide roll-out of Starlink in December 2022, starting with CCL-Carnival and AIDA ships, before expanding to its other world-class cruise brands, including Princess, Holland America Line, Seabourn, P&O (UK &Australia), Costa, and Cunard UK.

The expansion of Starlink advances the company's multi-provider strategy to deliver reliable, high-speed Wi-Fi service on board its global fleet, which visits 800+ ports worldwide. Designed to support a variety of constantly moving vessels, the system leverages technologies from diverse suppliers and dynamically routes internet traffic to optimize network speeds, ensuring a consistent experience for guests across all brands and itineraries.
