Princess Cruises has informed passengers of a revised itinerary for the upcoming sailing of the Enchanted Princess.
The ship will no longer visit Rockland Maine due to the Port's recently implemented restrictions on cruise vessels.
Scheduled to depart on August 31st, the ship will visit ports in New England USA and Canada, offering views of the autumn foliage.
In a notification to passengers, a spokesperson explained that due to new restrictions on cruise ships in Rockland ME, the Enchanted Princess will no longer call at Rockland on Tuesday, September 3, and will instead visit Eastport Maine.
Additionally, the scheduled stop at Newport Rhode Island (on Sunday, September 1) will now be a day at sea.
Rockland’s new regulations limit the port to one large ship with up to 3000 passengers during September and October. Enchanted Princess (max capacity 3600 passengers) exceeds this limit.
Bar Harbor Maine also imposed a restriction in March, capping cruise passengers at 1,000 per day.
