AIDA Cruises has announced its most extensive fleet modernization program to date - AIDA Evolution.
The initiative starts with AIDAdiva ship undergoing significant updates at Chantier Naval de Marseille, from February 3 to March 22, 2025.
During the 7-week drydocking, the AIDAdiva will receive extensive renovations in public areas and updates to technical equipment and systems. Enhancements will include a complete redecoration of all staterooms, an increase in the number of suites, and the introduction of exclusive areas and services for the first time in this class of ships.
The modernization will also expand dining options, with new restaurants and service offerings, and will add signature for the German travel brand bars.
The Theatrium will be refurbished with inviting seating and a new color scheme, while families with children can look forward to new activity areas.
Following the drydock, AIDAdiva will sail three itineraries from Civitavecchia-Rome to destinations in Italy and Malta, starting March 23, 2025. Call ports include Valletta, Siracusa or Catania, Palermo, Naples, and Olbia.
Subsequently, AIDAdiva relocates to its summer homeport Warnemunde (Germany), offering voyages in the Baltic Sea and visits to Norway.
A highlight of the AIDA Evolution program will be AIDAdiva's first world cruise from November 10, 2025, to March 18, 2026. This 128-day voyage, the longest in the company's history, will depart from Hamburg (Germany) and cover 4 continents and 28 countries, including both the east and west coasts of the USA and Japan for the first time. The itinerary includes 53 ports, more than any previous AIDA world cruise, with New Year's Eve celebrated in Hawaii.
The Sphinx-class ships were commissioned between 2007 and 2013, and are known for their innovative open space concept and design, contributing to the unique AIDA experience.
Following AIDAdiva, AIDAluna and AIDAbella will also undergo modernization in 2025-Q3 and 2026-Q2, respectively.
