Following a scheduled docking period in Kaiserdock II at the Lloyd Werft shipyard in Bremerhaven, the HANSEATIC Inspiration has returned to the water.
During the 10 day drydock, Hapag-Lloyd's expedition vessel underwent a series of renovations and technical maintenance/classification works. On May 23rd, the ship embarked on an 8-day Baltic and North Sea voyage from Bremerhaven.
Preparations for this docking period spanned ~10 months, culminating in a continuous 10-day effort aboard the HANSEATIC Inspiration. 500+ crew members, along with staff from external companies and the shipyard, addressed 250+ tasks. These ranged from maintaining the bow thruster and inspecting the rudders, propellers, and stabilizers, to installing new carpets, wallpaper, and tiles.
The primary focus was on technical work, including a mandatory renewal of the vessel’s MOT and the application of a new coat of paint. In addition to these technical upgrades, the cabins, suites, and public areas were refurbished. The reception area, staircases, corridors, Pool Deck, and OCEAN SPA have all been refreshed.
HANSEATIC Inspiration's 8-day itinerary from Bremerhaven (May 23) included stops at Binz/Rugen, the premiere harbor of Timmendorf (Poel Island), Wismar, a daytime passage through the Kiel Canal to Cuxhaven, and continues to Hamburg with stops at Helgoland and List/Sylt.
