The newest addition to the Jimmy Buffett-themed Margaritaville at Sea cruise line has arrived in Tampa, Florida. MAS Islander, the company's second ship, will commence inaugural voyages from Port Tampa Bay on Friday, June 14th, offering 4- and 7-day roundtrips to Mexico (Progreso and Cozumel) and Key West FL.
The Margaritaville cruise line, known for its laid-back, Buffett-inspired atmosphere, has previously operated shorter two-night itineraries to the Bahamas from Palm Beach. The Islander, a larger vessel, will significantly expand the line's capacity with 1,105 staterooms, including 6 signature grand suites themed after some of Jimmy Buffett's most iconic songs. Cruises are priced starting at US$229 for roundtrips to Cozumel and US$479 for longer voyages that include stops in Belize and Mexico.
Onboard amenities reflect the relaxed Margaritaville vibe, featuring a 3-story poolside LandShark Bar at Sea, a Play Pad, water slide, casino, spa, and multiple pools. Guests can enjoy meals at the Port of Indecision Buffet, work out at the Fins Up Fitness Center, unwind at the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Pool, and capture memories at the Flip Flop Atrium.
Savannah Buffett, the eldest daughter of the late singer, will serve as the ship’s godmother. Savannah, who co-authored two children’s books with her father, has hosted radio shows and appeared as a backup singer in the 1998 music video “Jamaica Farewell.”
The Islander will primarily offer 4- and 5-night western Caribbean itineraries, with destinations including Cozumel, Key West, and the Yucatan port town Progreso.
