MS Amadeus Nova debuted last week, with Amadeus River Cruises announcing that its newest boat sets a new environmental standard.
Amadeus Nova has a diesel-electric propulsion system, which significantly reduces CO2 emissions and noise/vibrations.
The shipowner stated that innovative filters and catalytic converters nearly eliminate air pollutants/particulate matter.
Top deck's solar panels provide electricity, and a heat recovery system makes the engines' heat reusable.
The riverboat accommodates 158 guests in 79 staterooms and has 4 decks. Accommodations include 12 balcony suites and 67 outside cabins with retractable panoramic windows. Additional onboard amenities include wind-protected lounges, a gallery with a cafe, wellness/spa and fitness facilities, and a pool on the Sun Deck.
During the inaugural 2024 season, Amadeus Nova sails on Danube River leaving roundtrip from homeport Passau Germany.
