RCI-Royal Caribbean International has officially taken delivery of its newest vessel, Utopia of the Seas. The ceremonial event took place at the French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique's yard in Saint-Nazaire on June 14th.
The 5668-passenger ship will soon reposition to the USA, with her maiden voyage set to depart from Port Canaveral, Florida, on July 19.
Utopia OTS is the latest OASIS-class vessel. It has scheduled 3- and 4-night roundtrip (ex-Port Canaveral/Orlando) itineraries, each visiting Royal Caribbean’s private island CocoCay Bahamas.
Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, emphasized the significance of this milestone, noting that Utopia of the Seas represents the ongoing evolution of the line’s innovative ships and their commitment to creating exceptional and responsible vacation experiences. Liberty highlighted that following the introduction of Icon of the Seas earlier this year, Utopia of the Seas continues the focus on delivering diverse vacation options and unforgettable memories for guests.
Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, described Utopia of the Seas as the ultimate short vacation option, providing an exceptional experience in both 3-night weekend and 4-night weekday getaways. Bayley expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming debut, highlighting the combination of Utopia and Perfect Day at CocoCay as a perfect match for delivering memorable and well-spent vacations.
