AIDA Cruises is advancing with its fleet modernization initiative AIDA Evolution. Following the AIDAdiva ship, the next two Sphinx-class vessels now have scheduled shipyard periods.
As part of AIDA Evolution, the first 3 ships of the Sphinx series will undergo extensive upgrades by 2026. The project will start with AIDAdiva at the Chantier Naval shipyard in Marseille, France, from February 3 to March 22, 2025.
The scheduled drydock periods for the next two ships are as follows: AIDAluna from October 22 to December 10, 2025, and AIDAbella from January 21 to March 11, 2026.
Each 7-week overhaul will focus on technological upgrades and enhancing the onboard experience, services, and comfort. Innovations from the latest AIDA generation will be incorporated, including redesigned guest staterooms and an increased number of suites. Exclusive areas and services will be introduced for the first time in this ship class. Culinary offerings will be expanded with a greater variety of restaurants and improved service, and popular signature bars will be added. The Theatrium will receive a redesign featuring inviting seating and a harmonious color scheme. New activity areas will be specifically created for families with children.
AIDA's Sphinx ships, which entered service between 2007 and 2013, have significantly shaped the brand experience with their innovative open-space design. Through AIDA Evolution, these vessels will undergo comprehensive modernization to further enhance their appeal.
