45-yo crew found dead on Celebrity Infinity ship during cruise in Greece

A 45-year-old Indonesian male crew was found dead in his cabin on the Celebrity Infinity ship navigating in Greek waters, en route from Thessaloniki to Kavala.

The incident was reported by the ship's officers to local authorities. The body was transferred to a medical examiner in Komotini for an autopsy upon Infinity's arrival in Kavala.

The 12-deck Celebrity Infinity (max capacity 2604 passengers) continued the voyage, departing Kavala on the afternoon of June 27th.

No further details about the circumstances of the crew member's death have been released at this time.

The incident occurred during the 7-day "Best of Greece Cruise" (itinerary June 22-29, roundtrip from Piraeus-Athens) visiting Santorini Island (Jun 23), Kusadasi-Ephesus (Jun 24), Thessaloniki (Jun 26), Kavala (Jun 27, port stay 8 am-5 pm) and Mykonos Island (Jun 28).
