Explora Journeys unveils 2024 adventures with renowned explorer Mike Horn

MSC Explora Journeys, the luxury lifestyle ocean travel brand and sister company of MSC Cruises, has unveiled unique Destination Experiences featuring renowned explorer and brand ambassador, Mike Horn.

From 10-20 November 2024, guests on the EXPLORA I ship will have the unique opportunity to join Mike Horn on two exceptional adventures, showcasing the wild beauty of Spain’s Lanzarote and La Palma islands.

Throughout his extensive career, Mike Horn has explored the remotest regions of the planet, mapping invisible paths across the globe. On board EXPLORA I, the Johannesburg-born explorer will share stories of his adventures during enriching onboard talks. Additionally, he will conduct workout sessions, sharing his knowledge on mental and physical preparation.

Guests on the voyage from 10-20 November 2024, departing from Barcelona and visiting Cadiz, the Canary Islands, and Gibraltar UK before returning to Barcelona, can partake in two exclusive Destination Experiences:

Adventures with Mike Horn: Hike Lanzarote’s Haria Extreme Wild Trail: Participants will join Mike Horn on an intrepid hike up the challenging Haria Extreme ultra-marathon trail. Starting from Famara, they will ascend the rugged cliffs, enjoying breathtaking island panoramas. The hike continues along the Camino de Los Gracioseros, culminating in the village of Haria. Guests will enjoy a revitalizing lunch at the Tacande restaurant, followed by an exploration of Haría's picturesque streets and thriving palm groves.

  • Adventures with Mike Horn: Explore La Palma’s Wild Beauty and Piratical Past by Land & Sea: Guests will explore La Palma’s untamed beauty and intriguing history. Beginning in Tijarafe, Mike Horn will guide participants through the island’s lush subtropical environment down a rugged coastal path to Poris de Candelaria, a hidden hamlet at the cliff’s base. From there, guests will sail with Mike to the spectacular Cueva Bonita, a sea cave once used by fishermen to evade pirates. Known as the ‘Atlantic Sistine Chapel,’ the cave’s walls are illuminated by the soft light of sundown, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.
