In partnership with Chef Anthony Felix Gemignani (American chef, restaurateur, author), Princess Cruises has set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the "World's Largest Pizza Party." This milestone was achieved simultaneously across multiple venues aboard its fleet, with guests enjoying 60,000+ slices of freshly oven-baked pizza.
Chef Gemignani, recognized as the greatest pizza maker in modern history, has crafted two exclusive pizzas for Princess Cruises. These feature unique combinations such as Soppressata sausage with hot honey and agave pesto with fresh goat cheese. Additionally, he has shared recipes for three of his award-winning pizzas, reinforcing Princess Cruises' reputation for offering the Best Pizza at Sea.
The debut of Chef Gemignani's creations will occur at Alfredo's restaurant on the new Sun Princess ship, with plans to introduce them fleetwide this summer. To ensure authenticity, Princess chefs were personally trained by Chef Gemignani at his acclaimed Tony's Pizza Napoletana restaurant in San Francisco CA and onboard Princess ships.
Chef Gemignani, a highly decorated pizzaiolo, restaurateur, and author, has garnered numerous accolades, including 13x World Pizza Championships, 4x GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS titles, and the distinction of opening 30+ restaurants. His pizzas will be showcased at Alfredo's and Gigi's specialty pizzerias, which offer a variety of freshly prepared/oven-baked, individual-size pizzas, salads, wine, and beer, and have been voted "Best Pizza at Sea" by USA Today. These selections will also be available at the complimentary Slice locations on the Lido Deck on all Princess ships.
This achievement marks Princess Cruises' second GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title, following the company's record for the "Largest Marriage Vow Renewal Ceremony" held in multiple venues fleetwide in 2020.
Chef TOny Gemignani also holds several other records, including "World's Longest Pizza," "Most People Tossing Pizza Dough at Once," "Largest Pizza Base Spun in Two Minutes," and "Most Consecutive Pizza Rolls Across the Shoulders in 30 Seconds."
