China's second domestically-built large cruise ship will operate from Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Home Port in Guangdong Province, as announced by CSSC/China State Shipbuilding Corporation Ltd (shipowner/Adora's parent company) on Tuesday.

Adora Cruises/Carnival China, the ship's operator, has signed a cooperation agreement with the port to jointly advance Guangzhou's cruise industry and explore the market in South China.

Hua Chi, manager of the general office at Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Home Port said the Guangzhou Nansha Port features a 770-meter shoreline and the most extensive access channels among China's cruise ports. It offers the largest coverage and optimal conditions for passengers' waiting halls.

According to Yang Guobing, chairman of Adora Cruises and CSSC Cruise Technology Development Co Ltd, Adora will finalize the cruise route design, enhancing travel options for customers. He added that once the second ship is based in Guangzhou, they will refine their offerings to highlight the Lingnan culture and Guangzhou's unique characteristics. The ship will feature larger spaces and improved facilities and will primarily operate routes to South Asia and Southeast Asia, complementing the sistership Adora Magic City ship.

China's second homegrown large cruise vessel is currently in the final assembly stage and is expected to be delivered in 2026-Q4, with revenue operations starting in 2027.
