ACL-American Cruise Lines has announced the successful completion of sea trials for the American Liberty ship, ACL's 3rd catamaran/Coastal Cat.

The 100-passenger vessel, delivered ahead of schedule by Chesapeake Shipbuilding, is part of the company’s Project Blue series, which aims to introduce 12 new small ships for river and coastal cruising in the USA.

American Liberty is currently set to start the inaugural voyage (roundtrip from Providence, Rhode Island) on August 15th. The "New England Islands" itinerary visits New Bedford, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, Block Island, Newport, and Bristol.

Charles B. Robertson (ACL's President & CEO) stated that American Liberty is the newest ship in their fleet, reflecting the ongoing commitment to building small innovative ships for the USA’s rivers and coasts. This boat is a testament to the company’s growth and dedication to expanding its fleet with innovative designs that cater to the unique demands of U.S. river and coastal cruising.

Following the launches of sisterships American Eagle and American Glory in 2023, American Liberty will enhance the company's USA-exclusive itineraries along the East Coast throughout 2024. These voyages blend the luxury of river cruising with the adventurous spirit of expedition cruising, exclusively visiting ports in the USA.

American Liberty features a catamaran bow, elegant interior design, and private balcony accommodations. She offers spacious single and double-occupancy staterooms, suites, and a top deck for panoramic views. Additional amenities include comfortable indoor and outdoor lounges, a main restaurant, casual cafe, and fitness center - features that are noteworthy for ships of this size.

The vessel's launch highlights ACL's continued market strength and innovative approach to small-ship cruising.
