The French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique/STX France has selected TMC Compressors (TMC) to provide the marine compressed air systems for 2 vessels under construction for Orient Express Silenseas. These vessels are poised to become the world’s largest sailing ships.

TMC’s contract includes delivering a comprehensive marine compressed air system for each vessel. This system will comprise service and control air compressors, service and control refrigerant air dryers, and a desiccant control air dryer.

TMC will manufacture and assemble the marine compressed air systems at its Nordic facilities and deliver them to Chantiers de l’Atlantique in France.

The brand Orient Express, renowned for luxury train travel, is venturing into cruise travel with the Silenseas project.

The first of these ships, the OE Corinthian, will feature a length of 220 m (722 ft), 3 sail masts each 100+ m (328+ ft) high with a surface area of 1500 m2 (16,146 ft2), and 54 cabins averaging 70 m2 (753 ft2) each.

TMC is a global supplier of compressed air systems for marine and offshore use, headquartered in Oslo, Norway.
