DCL-Disney Cruise Line’s upcoming vessel, the Disney Destiny, set to debut in late 2025, will feature a variety of unique dining and entertainment experiences inspired by beloved Disney franchises.
The ship, which will be homeported in Fort Lauderdale/Port Everglades (Florida USA) is scheduled for her maiden voyage in December 2025.
In line with DCL’s announcement in March, the Disney Destiny will embrace a heroes-and-villains theme, reflecting the “dynamic duality” that drives many classic Disney narratives. The ship will showcase venues and entertainment inspired by characters from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel, offering guests a diverse and immersive experience.
One of the ship's dining highlights will be Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King, a restaurant designed to evoke the African savannah, complete with animal and nature motifs. The venue’s back wall, lined with windows, will shift from sunrise to sunset throughout the meal, enhancing the thematic atmosphere. Guests can enjoy live performances of iconic songs such as "Circle of Life," "Hakuna Matata," and a medley that contrasts "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" with "Be Prepared," underscoring the narrative’s central conflict between hero and villain.
Additionally, the ship will feature Edna a la Mode Sweets, a confectionary inspired by the Incredibles character Edna Mode, where guests can indulge in handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, and other specialty treats. The design will mirror Edna Mode’s lab, the fictional workshop where the superhero family's costumes are created, adding a whimsical touch to the experience.
Other onboard venues include casual cafes, such as Cafe Megara, named after the character from Disney’s Hercules, and Cafe Merida, themed after the Scottish Highlands setting of Pixar’s Brave. These cafes will offer a variety of beverages and snacks, complementing the ship’s array of dining options.
Disney Destiny’s staterooms will be adorned with custom artwork celebrating Disney legends. The concierge-level staterooms and suites will feature Fantasia-inspired watercolor art, while seven special oceanview rooms above the bridge will incorporate Incredibles iconography, complete with expansive, floor-to-ceiling windows. The ship will also offer Hero Suites with designs influenced by Greco-Roman architecture, and an IncrediSuite with a mid-century modern aesthetic, paying homage to The Incredibles.
The 15-deck Disney Destiny will be LNG-powered and is part of SCL’s broader fleet expansion. This includes the Disney Treasure ship, debuting in December 2024, and the Disney Adventure ship, which will be based in Singapore alongside the Destiny in 2025.
