Reports indicate that a passenger has gone overboard from RCI-Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas during the 7-night Greece & Croatia itinerary.
According to a post on Reddit, guests aboard the ship were awakened at 5:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, by search and rescue operations.
The incident occurred while the ship was navigating between the Croatian ports Dubrovnik and Zadar. The individual involved is reportedly a young UK citizen.
AIS data reveals that the ship changed direction multiple times as she initiated search and rescue efforts.
Explorer OTS had departed from Ravenna, Italy, on August 3, making stops in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and Piraeus-Athens and Santorini in Greece, and was en route to Zadar, Croatia, before her scheduled return to Ravenna.
