MSC Cruises will feature prominently in the forthcoming Formula 1 film “F1,” starring Brad Pitt and produced by Apple Original Films and Warner Brothers.
The film centers on Sonny Hayes (played by Pitt), a former Formula 1 driver attempting a comeback with the fictional APXGP team. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the movie's production team includes Jerry Bruckheimer and Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton. The cast also features Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, and Damson Idris, with scenes shot during actual Grand Prix weekends.
As part of MSC's partnership with Formula 1, the company's logo will appear in the film on the APXGP race car, team uniforms, and at the race track. The movie is slated for release in North American theaters and IMAX on June 27, 2025, with a global release set for June 25, 2025.
MSC entered into a partnership with Formula 1 in 2022, which will extend through the 2026 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. Notably, during the November 2023 Grand Prix, the 6300-passenger ship MSC Virtuosa was docked at the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal, serving as a floating hotel for race attendees. The ship offered bundled packages that included accommodations, race tickets, themed events, and transfers to the Yas Marina Circuit.
For 2024, MSC is offering two special voyages timed with the Qatar Grand Prix, set to take place from November 29 to December 1st. These 7-night cruises aboard MSC Euribia depart from Abu Dhabi on November 27th and from Dubai on November 30th, providing guests with transfers to the Lusail International Circuit, panoramic seating, and access to the Fan Zone while the ship is docked in Qatar.
