Shanghai (China) inaugurated its first International Cruise Festival on Saturday, August 10th, aiming to capitalize on the growing demand for ship travel.
The festival, running until August 31st, will feature a series of product launches and business promotion activities centered around the cruise shipping economy.
Liu Ping, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal Government, emphasized the cruise industry's role in expanding domestic demand, stimulating consumption, and advancing high-level international engagement.
Liu stated that the city will continue to create new consumption scenarios and services to meet the evolving needs of cruise passengers.
This festival is part of Shanghai City's broader strategy to enhance its status as a global consumption hub and attract more international cruise companies to establish their headquarters in the city.
