Virgin Voyages is charting a course for the cosmos with the introduction of its first-ever Eclipse Voyages, set to launch in 2026 as part of the cruise line's new Marvelous Voyages series. These voyages are inspired by the growing trend of astrotourism, which focuses on travel for the purpose of stargazing and witnessing celestial events. With upcoming years predicted to offer spectacular views of auroras, solar eclipses, and other astronomical phenomena, Virgin Voyages is positioning itself at the forefront of this unique travel experience.
The award-winning, adults-only cruise line, will offer these Eclipse Voyages in August 2026, allowing passengers to sail directly into the path of totality for a solar eclipse. The itineraries, spanning 12 to 15 nights, include stops in destinations such as Dublin, Glasgow, and Reykjavik aboard the Valiant Lady, as well as the Amalfi Coast, Mallorca, and Cannes on the Scarlet Lady. To enhance the celestial theme, Virgin Voyages will feature on-board events with space explorers and scientists, transforming the ship's upper decks into observation areas complete with telescopes, binoculars, and expert astronomers.
In addition to these specialized voyages, the Marvelous Voyages collection includes 6 other sailings between March and August 2026, ranging from 8 to 16 nights. These itineraries will explore diverse regions from Iceland to Istanbul, the British Isles to the Baltics, introducing travelers to 12 new ports including Salerno, Edinburgh, Stockholm, Hamburg, Oslo, Tangier, and Greenland.
As anticipation builds, Virgin Voyages is already seeing strong bookings for its 2025 season following a sold-out summer in 2024. Loyal passengers will have early access to the 2026 voyages starting August 14, with general bookings opening later in the month.
