USCG medevacs 52-yo passenger with chest pains from Royal Caribbean's ship Utopia OTS

A 52-year-old passenger aboard RCI-Royal Caribbean's ship Utopia of the Seas was airlifted by helicopter to a hospital in Cape Canaveral after experiencing chest pains off the coast of Florida, as reported by the US Coast Guard Southeast.

Images of the rescue operation, conducted 23 miles from Port Canaveral, were shared on social media.

The USCG's boat crew and first responders assisted in the transfer of the passenger to shore, where he was subsequently taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Further details regarding the incident have not been disclosed.

The incident occurred in the beginning of the 4-day "Bahamas and Perfect Day Cruise" (itinerary Aug 12-16, roundtrip from Port Canaveral/Orlando, Florida) visiting Nassau (Aug 13) and Coco Cay Island (Aug 15).
