Princess Cruises has recently implemented a US$1 increase in daily gratuities across all stateroom categories. This adjustment, which has not been officially announced by the cruise line, affects all future sailings but does not apply to guests currently onboard or those who have already prepaid their gratuities.
The updated rates now stand at US$17 per person, per day for guests in staterooms such as balcony, ocean view, and interior cabins. Those in Mini-Suites, Reserve Collection, Club Class, or Cabana Staterooms will be charged US$18 per person, per day, while suite guests will see a rate of US$19 per person, per day.
For example, a family of 4 in an inside stateroom on a 7-night cruise will now pay a total of US$476 in gratuities, reflecting a US$28 increase. It's important to note that this change only applies to guests who have booked a standard fare, as Princess Plus and Princess Premier fares already cover daily gratuities.
Though the increased gratuities are automatically added to guest accounts, passengers have the option to adjust or remove them by contacting guest services before payment. However, it is generally discouraged, as these gratuities support numerous crew members behind the scenes.
