Oman has introduced a new regulation offering a free 10-day visit visa for passengers and crew aboard cruise ships docking in the country, aiming to boost tourism.
As outlined in Decision No. 132/2024, the policy was announced by Lieutenant General Hassan bin Mohsen Al Shuraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs.
Cruise ship agents can request the visa, which must be used within 30 days of issuance.
In addition to the complimentary 10-day visa, a one-month visa option is also available under similar terms.
This initiative is expected to significantly enhance Oman’s appeal as a cruise destination, contributing to the growth of the local tourism economy by encouraging visitors to explore the country’s attractions.
