Princess Cruises has announced several modifications for their newest ship - Sun Princess, effective October 14th, 2024, as the vessel begins its Caribbean voyages from Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale, Florida USA).
These changes will accommodate the launch of the new Sanctuary Collection, featuring 215 premium cabins, including 80 suites, 123 mini-suites, and 12 premium deluxe balcony rooms. Passengers in these staterooms will have access to exclusive amenities, including the all-inclusive Princess Premiere package and a private retreat area.
A key addition is the new Sanctuary Restaurant, designed exclusively for Sanctuary Collection guests. Positioned on Deck 8 aft, it will feature an ocean-view setting, a dedicated waitstaff, and a custom chef’s menu aimed at delivering an elevated dining experience. The restaurant takes over the current location of the Americana Diner, which will be relocated to Deck 9 aft, continuing to serve casual meals throughout the day.
Other notable changes include the relocation of Sun Princess' signature dining venues. The Crown Grill steakhouse will move to Deck 7 aft, replacing the Reserve Collection Restaurant, while The Butcher’s Block by Dario will occupy Crown Grill's current space. Additionally, the seafood-focused Catch by Rudi will move to the existing Signature Restaurant location.
Several venue names on Sun Princess will also change. Park19 has been renamed the SkyDeck Sports Court & Track, and the Horizons Dining Room on Decks 6 and 7 will now be called Soleil Dining Room and Eclipse Dining Room, respectively. These updates are part of Princess Cruises' ongoing enhancements to refine the luxury experience aboard Sun Princess.
