Princess Cruises unveils 2026 Japan season with Diamond Princess

Japan remains a sought-after destination for travelers drawn to its architectural marvels, culinary delights, and natural beauty, a trend that is expected to persist through 2026.

Princess Cruises, a leading North American cruise line in Japan, has announced its 2026 Japan cruise season, catering to those seeking a culturally immersive experience. The 2,670-passenger Diamond Princess, designed and constructed in Japan, will return for an extended season from February to November 2026, offering 50 departures across 35 unique itineraries, ranging from 7 to 28 days, and visiting 38 destinations in 3 countries.

The Diamond Princess' itineraries will encompass renowned Japanese cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Hiroshima, alongside cultural landmarks like the Sannai-Maruyama ruins, Kochi Castle, and the iconic Itsukushima Shrine. Guests will also experience Japan's rich traditions, including sumo wrestling, kabuki theater, Zen gardens, and seasonal highlights such as cherry blossoms and fall foliage.

2026 Itinerary Highlights:

  • Spring Flowers Cruises: 10- and 11-day itineraries in March and April visiting all four of Japan's main islands, tracking the cherry blossom season from south to north.
  • Circle Japan Voyages: 9- to 14-day sailings circumnavigating Japan, with stops in cities like Nagasaki, Kanazawa, and Maizuru (for Kyoto).
