Lindblad Expeditions has introduced a new series of voyages in collaboration with National Geographic, expanding its Amazon River expeditions aboard the all-suite boat Delfin III.
This 42-guest vessel, locally constructed and thoughtfully designed, offers immersive journeys along the Upper Amazon River and into the heart of Peru. The ship’s decor, featuring hand-made furniture and art from surrounding Amazonian communities, reflects a commitment to sustainable practices and highlights the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. Guests aboard Delfin III will enjoy modern amenities such as an Observation Deck with a Whirlpool hot tub, a spacious air-conditioned Lounge for expert presentations, and a Bar serving regional cocktails like the Pisco Sour. Additionally, the ship offers a spa, gym, and a menu of Amazonian-inspired cuisine.
Starting in January 2026, Delfin III will join her sistership, Delfin II, to offer 2 distinct itineraries:
- 6-day Upper Amazon: A River Expedition. This voyage takes guests deep into Peru’s rainforest, navigating the intricate waterways of the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve, where they will encounter wildlife such as pink river dolphins and monk saki monkeys. Led by expert naturalists, the expedition includes visits with local ribereños (Amazonian river people), guided wildlife spotting, and photography sessions with National Geographic-certified instructors.
- 10-day Wild Peru Escape: Amazon and Machu Picchu. This extended journey combines the 6-day Upper Amazon River expedition with an exploration of Peru’s cultural treasures. Guests will visit UNESCO World Heritage sites, spend two days at Machu Picchu, and explore the city of Lima and the ancient Incan capital of Cusco, blending the Amazon’s wilderness with Peru’s rich historical heritage.
Delfin III joins the fleetmate Delfin II, which has sailed the Amazon River under Lindblad-National Geographic since 2010.
Both houseboats, recognized by the luxury Relais & Chateaux group, are celebrated for their commitment to the region’s culture, nature, and cuisine.
The Delfin III charter brings Lindblad’s fleet to 20 vessels, doubling its Amazon offerings and solidifying its presence in this biodiverse region.
