China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Weihai) recently completed sea trials for the Saint-Malo ferry/Ro-Pax ship ordered by Sweden’s Stena RoRo for Brittany Ferries/France.

With LOA length 195 m (640 ft), the vessel is one of three E-Flexer-class designed by Deltamarin/Finland to meet DNV class standards.

With max passenger capacity 1400 and cargo capacity 470 cars+63 trucks, Saint-Malo also features LNG dual-fuel engines and a battery hybrid system with shore charging, reducing emissions by using battery power during port maneuvers.

The ship is equipped with 28 cabins for passengers traveling with pets, along with an art gallery and an exclusive lounge.

Alongside sistership Guillaume de Normandie, Saint-Malo will serve Brittany Ferries' routes between Portsmouth, UK, and Ouistreham/Caen and St Malo.

Delivery of the vessel is expected in November 2024.
