A DCL/Disney Cruise Line ship encountered delays at sea due to the impact of Hurricane Helene. Disney Fantasy ship was forced to bypass a scheduled call at Grand Cayman after Helene, at the time a tropical storm, brought heavy rainfall and led to the closure of the island’s port facilities.
The vessel had departed from Cozumel Mexico on schedule but was unable to dock in Grand Cayman as intended. As a result, it remained at sea for an additional day before continuing the voyage.
Disney Fantasy is still on course to reach Disney's private Bahamian island Castaway Cay, though with a reduced port schedule.
The cruise is expected to conclude at Port Canaveral/Orlando (Florida USA) on Saturday, September 28th.
Meanwhile, DCL is closely monitoring Helene’s trajectory, as the storm is forecast to impact Florida.
DCL also announced adjustments to Disney Wish ship's current itinerary, which will now arrive at Port Canaveral on Friday, a day later than planned. Guests scheduled to embark on Disney Wish will experience delays of at least 5 hours due to the storm's ongoing disruptions.
