The river cruise brand Antara Cruises announced the launch of its newly refurbished boat RV Bengal Ganga, set to commence voyages from homeport Kolkata in October 2024.
The revitalized vessel further strengthens Antara's distinguished fleet, which includes the RV Ganges Voyager and RV Ganga Vilas.
Drawing inspiration from the classic design of colonial-era Clyde steamships, Bengal Ganga features 20 elegantly crafted staterooms made from Burmese red teakwood.
The recent upgrades combine timeless boutique charm with contemporary amenities, incorporating stylish 1970s-inspired interiors, spacious balconies, and large windows to maximize natural light, offering a serene and sophisticated atmosphere for guests.
Dining on Bengal Ganga takes place in the Dining Room (main deck) where guests can savor a range of Indian vegetarian dishes and international cuisine. For relaxation, the Upper Deck Lounge Bar offers a welcoming space for refreshments, while the Sun Deck provides an observation area perfect for yoga and leisure.
RV Bengal Ganga will embark on a 19-night/20-day voyage from Kolkata to Varanasi, with stops at historical and cultural landmarks such as Kalna, Murshidabad, and Patna. This immersive journey will allow travelers to explore local traditions, culminating in Varanasi, where highlights include witnessing the Ganga Aarti and visiting the sacred Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
The inaugural cruise programs, starting on October 21st, 2024, promise a deep dive into the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Ganges.
