170 affected by Norovirus outbreak on Royal Caribbean’s ship Radiance OTS

The U.S. CDC - Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported a gastrointestinal illness/Norovirus outbreak aboard RCI-Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas.

During the vessel's September 20th–27th voyage, 167 out of 2,172 passengers (7.69%) and 3 out of 894 crew members (0.34%) experienced symptoms including diarrhea and abdominal cramps.

The CDC has not yet specified the type of gastrointestinal infection involved in the incident.

At the time of the outbreak, the ship was on a 7-day "Alaska Experience Cruise" (roundtrip from Vancouver, BC Canada) visiting Sitka (Sept 22nd), Hoonah/Icy Strait Point (Sept 23rd), Juneau (Sept 4th) and Ketchikan (Sept 25th).
