The Mindelo Cruise Terminal, nearing completion, is in Porto Grande on Sao Vicente Island, Cape Verde’s largest and historically significant seaport.
Known for serving international shipping, the port is becoming a key mid-Atlantic stop for cruise ships.
Set to open later this year, the terminal boasts a 400-meter-long (1312-feet) quay with an 11-meter (36-feet) draft, capable of berthing 2 vessels simultaneously.
The facility includes a 900 m2 (9688 ft2) Welcome Building for visitor reception and administrative services. Designed as a modern and sustainable project, the terminal will feature onshore power supply technology to reduce port emissions.
The project is co-financed by the ORIO Fund (Netherlands) and the OPEC Fund for International Development.
