In February 2025, AIDA Cruises will commence its most extensive fleet modernization to date as part of the AIDA Evolution initiative. This program aims to enhance ship technology, service, and guest experience fleetwide.

AIDAdiva ship will be the first vessel to undergo this modernization, entering the Chantier Naval shipyard in Marseille (France) for a 7-week drydocking from February 3rd to March 22nd, 2025. The overhaul will focus on upgrading technical systems, as well as refining onboard facilities to elevate comfort and dining options.

The refurbished AIDAdiva will feature an expanded selection of dining venues. Guests will have access to 8 restaurants and 15 bars and cafes, offering a diverse range of national and international cuisine. Among the new additions is the Yacht Club Restaurant, which will provide a maritime dining atmosphere, serving light seasonal dishes and international specialties. An adjoining Lanai Bar will offer drinks such as AIDA Spritz and sundowners in an outdoor setting.

On Deck 11 will be added the French Kiss Restaurant offering French cuisine ranging from steak tartare to classic pastries. Adjacent to this, an Asian restaurant will serve sushi, dim sum, and Japanese okonomiyaki. A new Tokyo Bar will complement the Asian dining experience with signature drinks. Deck 10 will house the French Kiss Bar & Bistro, serving French snacks and drinks, while Deck 11 will feature an Ice Bar offering ice cream and waffles.

For Spanish flavors, the Tapas & Bar on Deck 9 will serve hot and cold tapas, accompanied by wines, sherries, and Spanish beers. At the bow on Deck 10, the new Panorama Lounge & Bar will provide panoramic views along with a selection of drinks. The redesigned Ocean Club on Deck 12 will cater to teens during the day and transform into a late-night music and dance venue.

In addition to these new venues, existing favorites like the Market Restaurant, Buffalo Steak House, Gourmet Restaurant Rossini, and Almhutte will be refreshed during the dry dock period.

In 2025, following the refurbishment, AIDAdiva will be deployed in the Mediterranean (starting on March 23, 2025) offering 3 itineraries with departures from Rome/Civitavecchia to destinations such as Valletta, Siracusa, Palermo, and Naples. During the summer, Diva will sail from Rostock/Warnemunde, exploring the Baltic Sea and Norwegian fjords.

World Tour 2025-2026: Beginning on November 10th, 2025, AIDAdiva will set sail on her inaugural world tour, marking the longest voyage in AIDA’s history at 133 days. The route will cover 5 continents and 27 countries, with visits to both the east and west coasts of the U.S. and Japan for the first time on an AIDA world cruise. Highlights include a New Year's Eve celebration in Hawaii and calls at 55 ports, the most ever on an AIDA world tour.

Future Modernizations: After AIDAdiva, the modernization program will continue with AIDAluna and AIDAbella, scheduled for drydocking in fall 2025 and spring 2026, respectively. These ships are from AIDA's Sphinx series (launched between 2007 and 2013). They were pivotal in establishing AIDA’s signature open-space design and guest experience.

The upcoming refurbishments will further enhance these vessels to meet evolving industry standards.
