Sun Princess, the newest and most advanced ship of Princess Cruises, made her North American debut on October 14th, arriving in Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades, Florida USA) following an inaugural Mediterranean season.
With volume 177,882 GT-tons and max capacity 5200 passengers, this advanced vessel was first deployed in the Mediterranean in February 2024. Award-winning actress Hannah Waddingham served as godmother, officially naming the ship in a ceremony held in Barcelona (Spain) on April 24th.
For 2024-2025 season, Sun Princess will operate a series of 7-day Eastern and Western Caribbean voyages, sailing roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale. After a successful debut season in the Mediterranean, the ship's innovative design, culinary offerings, entertainment, and advanced technology have been highly praised by guests. In recognition of its excellence, the Sun Princess was named #1 Mega Cruise Ship in the USA by the Conde Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards in early October.
The ship’s inaugural Caribbean season introduces the "Sanctuary Collection," offering guests an elevated experience with access to secluded retreats, premium services, and luxurious accommodations.
Sun Princess features 30 restaurants and bars, with menus crafted by renowned culinary collaborators, making it a destination for gourmet dining at sea. Notably, as the line’s first LNG-powered ship, it leads in sustainability with reduced greenhouse gas emissions and innovative energy recovery systems for more environmentally friendly cruising.
