Marella Cruises, TUI’s UK cruise line, has announced a distinctive solar eclipse voyage scheduled for the summer of 2026.
On August 12th, 2026, guests will have the opportunity to witness a solar eclipse at sea from Port Palamos (Spain). The cruise will feature updated itineraries and enhanced Cruise & Stay options across the fleet, with summer sailings available for booking beginning October 17th, 2024.
The solar eclipse event is part of the ‘Cosmopolitan Charms’ itinerary, which departs Palma de Mallorca (Majorca Spain) on August 11th, 2026. The Marella Discovery 2 will call at various destinations, including Palamos Spain, Propriano France, Civitavecchia-Rome Italy, Salerno (providing access to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast), and Palermo Sicily, before returning to Palma. This voyage is notable for being the first specifically designed by Marella Cruises to cater to eclipse enthusiasts.
In addition to the solar eclipse sailing, Marella Discovery 2 will introduce a revised ‘Jewels of the Mediterranean’ itinerary, commencing on May 12th, 2026. This route will start in Palma and include stops at Olbia in Sardinia, La Spezia (for visits to Portofino and Florence) in Italy, Villefranche France (providing access to Monaco), Toulon (for the Cote d'Azur) in France, and Palamos before returning to Palma.
Marella Cruises is also celebrating its 30th anniversary with special sailings on May 7th, 2026, from Corfu, Limassol, Palma, and Dubrovnik.
Additionally, the cruise line has expanded its Cruise & Stay offerings, adding 18 new hotel options in Cyprus, Croatia, Corfu, and Spain, bringing the total to 112 hotels. These packages will be available from 20 UK airports, providing travelers with increased convenience and flexibility.
