China’s second domestically built large cruise ship has been officially named Adora Flora City in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, according to the China State Shipbuilding Corporation.
Named in recognition of Guangzhou’s designation as the “Flower City,” the Adora Flora City is slated for delivery by the end of 2026, with plans to operate international routes from its homeport in Guangzhou. Compared to its predecessor, the Adora Magic City, the new vessel boasts a larger gross tonnage and expanded courtyard area, doubling the size of similar spaces onboard. With 2,130 cabins, the ship has a full capacity of 5,232 passengers.
The vessel’s cabin design and layout feature an array of new suite configurations, drawing on cultural themes, including influences from the Maritime Silk Road.
The Adora Flora City has completed hull integration of its functional areas as scheduled, with 87% of the main hull segment finished and overall assembly reaching 62% completion.
