The UK-based Saga Cruises has unveiled a fresh collection of itineraries for Winter 2026, now featuring inclusive excursions at every port. New activities include trekking the El Cuervo Volcano, stargazing in La Palma, and experiencing the lively carnivals of Funchal and Tenerife, all part of Saga’s enhanced lineup.
Among the highlights is a unique homecoming cruise to Croatia, curated by Saga’s Captain Franko Papic. This cruise joins a robust schedule of two Mediterranean voyages, a Northern Lights expedition, a Carnival-themed journey, and an itinerary covering the 7 Canary Islands.
Nigel Blanks, CEO of Saga Cruises, noted that the Winter 2026 lineup now offers a range of excursions in each port to accommodate diverse traveler interests. Blanks emphasized that by providing varied levels of activity, Saga aims to offer passengers a deeper engagement with each destination, with options that extend beyond traditional sightseeing.
The expanded Canaries program includes:
- Mount Teide by cable car in Tenerife,
- Stargazing in La Palma,
- A trek at El Cuervo Volcano and sea trekking in Arrecife,
- A submarine tour in Las Palmas,
- A catamaran cruise to the protected Lobos Island from Fuerteventura, and
- Carnival festivities in Funchal and Tenerife.
Captain Papic’s personal homecoming cruise will include overnights in Dubrovnik and Rijeka, and will feature new ports of call like Opatija, Krk Island, and Rijeka, last visited by Saga in 2017. Standout excursions include Plitvice Lakes, Skadar Lake, and Krka National Park, adding unique elements to the Croatia experience.
In keeping with its fleet names, Spirit of Adventure and Spirit of Discovery, Saga’s Winter 2026 season aligns with the company’s commitment to immersive and distinctive cruise experiences.
