In November 2024 and March 2025, the Costa Smeralda ship has scheduled two relocation itineraries visiting popular destinations in the Mediterranean/Europe, Western Africa, and Dubai UAE, with stops in Namibia and South Africa.
They are part of Costa Cruises' "Costa Voyages Special Edition" voyages.
The first cruise departs Genoa Italy on November 15th, 2024, arriving in Dubai on December 21st.
The second cruise departs Dubai on March 1st, 2025, returning to Genoa on April 7th.
Each itinerary is 36 days and stops in Namibia (Walvis Bay), South Africa (Cape Town and Port Elizabeth), Spain's Canary Islands (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), Mauritius (Port Louis), and Oman (Muscat).
A collaboration with Technogym will offer comprehensive wellness programs at sea. Guests can enjoy weekly fitness check-ups, access to specialized fitness equipment, and instructor-led classes. For an enhanced experience, an optional "Premium Health" package offers personal training, nutrition consultations, and healthy menus at the Arlecchino Restaurant.
Distinctive "Sea Destinations" will introduce guests to equatorial and southern constellations from the vast darkness of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, guided by the ship’s captain. Meanwhile, multi-day shore excursions provide opportunities for in-depth exploration. Among these, tourists can experience the iconic Garden Route in South Africa, embark on safaris to observe the "Big Five," or tour Namibia’s red dunes from a vintage safari camp.
On board, "Costa Voyages" promises a diverse cultural experience, from desserts crafted by Italian pastry chef Iginio Massari to exclusive dinners featuring menus from renowned chefs Bruno Barbieri, Helene Darroze, and Angel Leon. The Archipelago Restaurant offers a unique tasting menu by these chefs for culinary enthusiasts.
Additional events include Banquet Night, with elaborate ice sculptures and a live DJ, as well as themed evenings, such as Gala Night, Fashion Night, and Glamour Night, each offering dance and entertainment. A show produced with Rolling Stone magazine will highlight rock history, while Canon photographers lead sessions to help guests capture their voyage.
In addition to Costa Smeralda, Costa Voyages are also scheduled for the Costa ships Fortuna, Favolosa and Fascinosa. The vessels' itineraries (11-15 days) group unique destinations in the Canaries, Portugal's Azores, Greece, Morocco, and Normandy France.
