Celestyal Cruises has announced plans to expand the stateroom offerings aboard its newest vessel, Celestyal Discovery, as part of an extensive refit. The redesign will introduce 47 additional cabins (680 total), raising the ship’s total capacity to 1300 (7.4% increase in passenger accommodations).
Among the new accommodations, the refit will add two "Grand Horizon Suites" with large balconies positioned above the bridge, offering a distinctive vantage point. Additionally, 30 "Junior Dream Suites," a new stateroom category for the ship, will be introduced, along with 15 "Cosmos Cabins" in the interior. The decor and design of these new staterooms will vary seasonally, influenced by Celestyal’s diverse homeport locations.
As with the sistership Celestyal Journey, Celestyal Discovery will feature the “Smoked Olive” restaurant as an exclusive dining venue for suite guests. A new "pop-up" evening restaurant will also be introduced, providing a bookable private dining area with regional specialty dishes inspired by the ship’s itineraries.
The refit includes expanded premium stateroom benefits across the fleet. New perks for balcony and suite guests include priority check-in, a “Sail Away” party, a pillow menu, daily hosted cocktail hours, and access to the private Ray’s Sundeck and Cabanas area, which is reserved for guests in the "Grand Dream" and "Grand Horizon Suites." On Celestyal Journey, guests in "Grand Suites" will additionally have complimentary access to the Thermal Spa Suite, equipped with a private jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and relaxation area, while those in the "Stargazer Penthouse Suite" will enjoy an in-room, bottomless mini bar.
According to Anna Gregori, VP of Brand, Marketing, Communications, and Customer Experience at Celestyal, the addition of premium staterooms and new suite benefits aims to offer guests more comfort and a broader range of options.
Celestyal Discovery’s updates are scheduled for completion by April 2025, with the new staterooms available for booking beginning December 10th, 2024. The ship will offer a 3-night “Iconic Aegean” cruise from Athens (Piraeus, Greece) on November 21st, 2025, making stops at Mykonos, Kusadasi, Patmos, and Santorini.
Promotional rates start at GBP 269 per person for an interior "Cosmos Cabin," GBP 599 for a Balcony Cabin, and GBP 889 for a "Grand Dream Suite," valid until November 24th, 2024.
Celestyal Discovery has already undergone a comprehensive refurbishment following its acquisition in November 2023, with investments in social spaces, a full stateroom refresh, and the addition of Cafe Nation, the Pizza Oven eatery, and the Discovery Lounge.
