Port Canaveral (Orlando, Florida) has welcomed DCL-Disney Cruise Line's newest vessel, Disney Treasure, to its lineup of homeport ships.
Disney Treasure is now the 3rd Disney ship based at Port Canaveral, joining the fleetmates Disney Wish and Disney Fantasy. Marking the vessel’s maiden USA arrival, Port Canaveral officials, including Canaveral Port Authority Chairman Micah Loyd, Commissioner Admiral Wayne Justice (USCG-Ret.), and CEO Captain John Murray, participated in a traditional plaque exchange with Disney Treasure’s Captain Marco Nogara and DCL’s VP of Port Strategy, Jose Fernandez.
Disney Treasure, the second ship in Disney’s Triton Class, is a 140,000-ton LNG-powered vessel set to begin 7-day roundtrips from Port Canaveral next month. The ship's official maiden voyage leaves on December 21st, 2024. The inaugural itinerary visits Tortola BVI, St Thomas USVI, and Castaway Cay Bahamas/Disney's private island.
Following this inaugural voyage, Disney Treasure will operate year-round, providing week-long roundtrips to destinations in the Eastern and Western Caribbean and The Bahamas.
Designed to enhance the Disney cruising experience, Disney Treasure offers a range of dining and entertainment options inspired by Disney's iconic attractions and films. These include a dining venue themed after Disney’s Coco, an immersive show based on Moana, and the Haunted Mansion Parlor for adult guests, along with extensive children’s play areas, a new water attraction, and family-friendly amenities.
Port Canaveral was selected as Disney Treasure's homeport due to its central location and ability to accommodate LNG-powered ships. The port provides purpose-built LNG fueling infrastructure and specialized safety practices, making it an ideal base for Disney Cruise Line’s newest addition.
