55 passengers and 15 crew affected by Norovirus on Coral Princess

A norovirus outbreak has been reported aboard Princess Cruises’ ship Coral Princess, with 55 passengers and 15 crew members reporting Noro symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea.

According to the CDC/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the cases occurred among 1822 passengers during the current 31-day voyage (Oct 17-Nov 17) from Asia to the USA (Singapore to Los Angeles California).

In response to the illness outbreak, Princess Cruises has implemented enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols in line with its outbreak prevention and response plan.

The CDC’s Vessel Sanitation Program is monitoring the situation remotely, while the cruise company continues to manage the issue onboard.
