ACL-American Cruise Lines has announced that its newest vessel, American Legend, embarked on her maiden voyage on Monday, November 25th. The ship is operating the line’s 8-day Florida Gulf Coast & Keys itinerary, a roundtrip voyage departing from St. Petersburg, Florida.
Ports of call include Marco Island, Key West, and Punta Gorda, with an optional pre-cruise hotel stay available in Tampa. Guests aboard the fully domestic cruise will experience excursions at every stop, including a full-day exploration of Dry Tortugas National Park, showcasing the natural beauty and historical significance of Florida’s Gulf Coast and Keys.
As part of her inaugural week, American Legend hosted her official christening ceremony on Wednesday, November 27th, at Key West’s Mallory Square. The event, held aboard the vessel, featured Key West Mayor DeeDee Henriquez serving as the ship’s Godmother. Executives from American Cruise Lines and the ship’s inaugural guests also attended. The voyage coincides with Thanksgiving, which will be celebrated onboard with a traditional holiday meal.
The American Legend is the company’s 19th newbuild and the 4th in its Coastal Cat series. Accommodating up to 100 passengers, the ship exemplifies the line’s continued focus on small-ship cruising, providing intimate and personalized experiences along the U.S. coastline. It is the second new vessel introduced by American Cruise Lines in 2024.
