Celebrity Cruises will begin sailing out of Port Canaveral (Orlando, Florida USA) for the first time in December 2024.
The company has announced 20 new itineraries aboard the Celebrity Equinox ship, scheduled between December 3rd and April 19th, 2025. Most voyages are 7 nights, offering guests a chance to explore popular Caribbean destinations, including the Bahamas (Bimini, Nassau), Belize, Grand Cayman, Mexico (Cozumel, Costa Maya), San Juan, Dominicana (Puerto Plata) and St. Maarten.
Special Spring Break sailings, departing March 1st and March 15th, will include a visit to Royal Caribbean Group’s private destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Originally launched in 2009 and extensively refurbished in 2019, Celebrity Equinox underwent additional updates earlier this year. As a Solstice-Class vessel, it offers a midsize cruising experience but includes amenities often found on Celebrity’s larger Edge-Class ships. These features include the Martini Bar, Cafe al Bacio, the World Class Bar, and Craft Social sports bar. Dining options onboard are extensive, with highlights such as the French restaurant Murano, Sushi on 5, and the Italian steakhouse Tuscan Grill.
The 3000-passenger Celebrity Equinox is designed to offer an intimate cruising experience. The vessel is large enough to ensure vibrant activities and entertainment but small enough to avoid overwhelming crowds.
Captain John Murray (Port Canaveral's CEO) expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership, noting that demand for Celebrity Cruises sailings from the port has been steadily increasing. He emphasized that the arrival of Celebrity Equinox would provide more opportunities for travelers to enjoy the cruise line’s renowned premium experience, complemented by the convenience of embarking from Port Canaveral.
This marks a significant milestone for both Celebrity Cruises and Port Canaveral, as they expand their presence in the Caribbean market while offering travelers additional options for seamless and high-quality voyages.
