Stena Superfast VII ferry stranded off Northern Ireland amid storm

   December 7, 2024 ,   Accidents

Passengers on the Stena Superfast VII ferry have been delayed for 14+ hours off the coast of Northern Ireland after departing from Cairnryan (Scotland).

The vessel, which typically completes the route to Belfast in ~2 hours and 15 minutes, could not berth at its destination due to severe weather conditions caused by Storm Darragh.

According to Stena Line, the ship is "safely sheltered" along the Antrim coast, where efforts are ongoing to ensure the well-being of passengers onboard.

Stena Line has provided updates stating that all necessary care is being extended to those aboard.

At this time, it remains uncertain when the vessel will be able to dock in Belfast, as weather conditions continue to challenge operations.

The safety of passengers and crew remains the top priority, with further developments expected as the storm subsides.
